Easter and Earthquake

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body,
and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10: 19-24

Today [Sunday] was a special day here at Sanoviv, we had a wonderful mini-church service this morning! Bill shared the Easter message with us. After, one by one, we shared our very different and interesting testimonies. Some of the stories were amazing: how the Lord rescued people from a life of homelessness and drugs to a 30 million dollar business, 5 kids and a successful marriage!!

Our cook came to join us and shared his testimony: how he was involved with the drug cartel to prison then being saved and has a job, family. Now he and his whole family serve the Lord! He is very involved with the orphanages around here.

Then the most interesting of all was the cancer lady dancing on the table the other night shared her story and turns out she is from Prawda, Manitoba and the same nurse in Steinbach that told us about Sanoviv also told her about it! Here we are together in Sanoviv. We have been next door to each other all this time, wow! In Canada, they told her that the cancer was inoperable and she only had 6 months to live. Out here she had surgery, it was a complete success and she will have many more years! Praise the Lord !! Also, she was in the same room and same bed as Sandy in Steinbach. What are the odds of that happening? ha!

Then we went for lunch which was sooo cool. We ended up moving a whole bunch of tables together and had our veggies as a great big family gathering. Just like the Waltons!

Sandy forgot to weigh in this morning [Sunday]. The cook prepared a special breakfast for Sandy so she chowed down before they could weigh her. We almost cried it was so good! No sign of chocolate anywhere. But still a very good day.

Have a Blessed Easter. We are. Thanks for all the Easter wishes!

There was an earthquake today [Sunday]. Just to let everyone know we are okay. The 6.9 earthquake was 5 hours away. Sandy and I were busy at the puzzle when the whole building started shaking!!! We prairie girls from Canada too stupid to know what was going on. Why was the furniture moving? We were evacuated for a while till they knew it was over. Freaky stuff!!! Found out we were 147 km from the center of the quake. Wow!! [that's like from Grunthal to Winnipeg and back]

They moved all the people in the middle of the night because of tremors. Had another tremor this morning [Monday], but everything is still good!
